Do you have chronic back pain? Are you tense due to constant stress or do you feel like you are carrying “the burden of life”? The answer might be Dorn therapy.
Dorn therapy is a gentle, manual method for treating vertebral and joint blockages. It was developed in 1975 by Dieter Dorn (1938 – 2011).
The aim of Dorn therapy is to straighten the body from bottom to top. As the body’s statics run from the feet via the legs, pelvis and spine to the head, treatment is carried out in this order, which is called “the constructive sequence”.
This sequence is of fundamental importance. A complete Dorn therapy covers all joints of the body, especially the back and legs. On the one hand, the therapist corrects differences in leg length and, on the other, uses gentle pressure to bring vertebrae that are not in their normal position into the correct position. Dorn therapy is based on the knowledge that even slightly misaligned vertebrae can cause chronic pain, particularly in the back and buttocks.
The therapist works exclusively with his or her hands. Medication or auxiliary devices are not used. Blocked vertebrae are simply moved into the correct position using thumb pressure, with the patient performing certain movements in parallel to support the process. This active cooperation is an essential part of Dorn therapy. It also includes self-help exercises that the patient should carry out daily at home over a certain period of time in order to achieve optimum results.
When muscles have been loosened and vertebrae and joints have found their way back into the right place, not only is our body relaxed, but so is our soul!
